One of the best ways to go on any vacation for a huge discount is to book late deal cruises. Because cruise lines lose money for every empty cabin that they have on their cruise, they are desperate to fill them. Sometimes they can do this with competitive pricing, but sometimes they will misjudge the market and end up with a lot of empty rooms.

If this happens, you can get a room on a cruise ship for up to 75% off. There are even several websites, such as LateCruiseDeals.net that specialize in helping people find late deals on cruises. However, before you jump and book the first late cruise that you see, take a good look at the port of embarkation, because it can have a great deal to do with how cheap the cruise actually is for you.

An embarkation port is the place where a cruise ship loads and off-loads it’s passengers. It is your responsibility to get to this port before the cruise leaves for sea if you plan on joining it. Many times, the cruise line will help you arrange plane tickets to and from the port However, you are booking late, this service usually won’t be offered.

So before you book a late cruise ticket, look at the embarkation port. If it is within driving distance to you, you most likely won’t have a problem getting to the port. However, if you are longer away from the port, you need to arrange air tickets to it in time for the cruise and then tickets back home when you’re done with the cruise. You also need to arrange for transportation from the nearest airport to the port.

All of this can add up to a significant extra cost on top of your cruise before you even leave port! Always keep this in mind before you book your late cruise ticket.

If you are considering going to India for your vacation you should consider looking into what Sterling Resorts have to offer. With resorts in Munnar and Kodaikanal they can arrange a wonderful vacation in the spectacular mountains and tea plantations of South India.

Kodaikanal Sterling Resorts.

Tourists flock to Kodaikanal to escape the heat of the Indian summer and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. This has made it one of the most popular places to go on vacation. There are 2 resorts here.

One is a very classical style resort called the Lakeview resort. Its architecture is based on the old Victorian style. It is situated in the heart of the mountains and has wonderful views of the lakes and forests. You can do all sorts of outdoor activities like mountain hikes and tranquil boat rides. The Valley View resort is in sharp contrast with contemporary architecture and unique dome shaped rooms. If you are looking for an independent place you can rent apartments with one or two bedrooms. Dining is a treat with a choice of local Indian food or regular Continental cuisine.

The resort is easily accessible by taking a plane to Coimbatore or Madurai and then hiring a taxi to take you to the resort.

Munnar’s Sterling Resort..

The Munnar Sterling Resort is quite close to the main town in the village of Chinnakanal. This village is nestled among the forests and tea plantations. Here you have a lot of different accommodations. You can select a cottage, studio apartment or guest room to rent and enjoy spectacular views.

Munnar itself is in the Western Ghats mountain range. There are many tourists who come here to experience the breathtaking scenery and bracing climate. The Indian summers can be very hot and oppressive and people love to come to this area to escape the heat. The region’s spice plantations, tea gardens, mountains and forests compel people to come and experience the beautiful scenery. Added to this is the unique food of the region. All the spices are grown locally. When you need to pass your time you can always stroll through the spice plantations and tea gardens.

Kochi, Madurai and Combatore are the closest airports. From there you can take a taxi to the resort and get an introduction to the wonderful scenery that awaits you there. It is wise to remember that the Monsoon rains are very heavy in this region so it is good to go from October to May.

In my experience, traveling around Thailand can be exciting, fun and educational all at the same time. Add amazing Thai food and you have the best vacation ever! The people of Thailand really make traveling in their country enjoyable. Thais are known for their smiles, friendliness and hospitality. In fact, I met several travelers that after spending their vacation in Thailand decided to remain. It was definitely a tempting thought that I can saw often crossed my mind.

Another South East Asian country that is fun to explore is Cambodia. I was a bit trepidatious about traveling there only because I didn’t know much about it beforehand. As it turns out it was my second favorite country to Thailand. Once again the people were incredibly friendly and welcoming. It is obvious that many of the towns and communities are catering to tourists and hopefully in the future that won’t take away from travelers getting to know the real Cambodia. Cambodia still has a ways to go before they catch up with some of the conveniences and luxuries that Thailand offers but perhaps that is part of the charm.

While I loved Thailand and enjoyed traveling around Cambodia, I think I was most surprised by Vietnam. I expected Vietnam to be much like Cambodia and really the southern part of the country is quite similar. However, once you start to head north, the differences become less subtle and Vietnam becomes more developed. I wasn’t really expecting the beauty of the country either. Perhaps this was ignorance on my part because any search online of Halong Bay results in amazing photos and picturesque scenes. Vietnam is also making the effort to be more welcoming for tourists. Roads are being paved and buses are kept to a higher standard than in Cambodia. It would be difficult to choose one of these countries as my most recommended of South East Asia because each is unique.

Alicante is widely accepted as one of Spain’s fastest growing economic regions and has held this coveted position for a long time. This, however, was not always the case and between the 1920s and 1960s, it was largely a stagnating and a declining economy. And while its recovery due to tourism has been remarkable and record setting, Alicante’s economy has traditionally always relied on industry and trade. This was the prevalent economic trend in Alicante Spain so much so that up till the 1980s when it lost its position to Valencia’s harbor, Alicante was widely regarded as one of the bigger trading ports in the region.

And while it might have lost its position of the region’s biggest trading port to the Valencian harbors, it is still popularly regarded as the biggest cruise port in the neighboring provinces with and annual traffic of almost 100,000 people through its sea harbor. Today the Alicante Port Authority is again in a position to take the fight back to Valencia as it plans to reclaim part of its trading coast and establish and industrial Estate there.

The real backbone to Alicante’s industrial re-growth, which has once again put it into a position today where it can compete with the neighboring ports, has actually been its widely credited tourism and property and construction industry. After the economic decline of the 1980s, Alicante reinvented itself into the tourist hub that it is widely known as today and in doing so, attracted large numbers of skilled labor and interested investors. This not only brought Alicante into the international limelight but also ensured that the city, much like what Dubai witnessed in the past two decades, experienced sustained development. Today, much of Alicante’s Economy is dependent on its tourism reputation and this services sector remains, to date, the corner stone of Alicante’s Economy.

Looking forward to booking a holiday? Moraira is a perfect choice if you want to book a holiday in Spain with only a two hour plane journey from any U.K. airport.

Moriara is a quiet sea side resort with beautiful blue flag beaches, shops, bars and restaurants. Once a quaint fishing village Moraira is now a resort for the discerning holiday maker who would like to stay in a Spanish dream villa with all the views and amenities close by.

The transport system on the Costa Blanca is sadly lacking and unfortunately Moraira is no exception, unless you want to spend a fortune on taxi fares car hire seems to be the ideal solution. There are many different car hire companies to choose from and many of them are represented at the airport.

Once you are in Moraira having a car is a convenient way to go to the beach, enjoy your menu at restaurants as well as explore your surroundings. You might not want to spend your entire vacation in Moraira but may choose to visit neighboring Javea or Cumbre del Sol for the day or take a drive to Calpe to climb the Penon d’ Ifach.

There are many different beaches to visit in Moraira and the surrounding resorts so you will never tire of having to visit the same beach. Most of the beaches come with a promenade teeming with bars, restaurants and shops and boutiques selling beach goods. Be sure to take part in that beach volley ball match or football match.

Visiting Benidorm with its four theme parks is a must for all those with families who wish to experience roller coasters, rides, live entertainment and shows. Benidorm has four major theme parks, Terra Mitica, Terra Natura, Aqualandia and Mundomar all within a thirty minute drive from Moraira. Anyone wanting dinner and a show then be sure to book your table at Benidorm Palace.

If you want to make the most of your holiday in Moraira and have the convenience to come and go as you please and explore its surroundings then a Moraira car hire is a must.

If you are planning a trip to Europe, you will want to consider your method of travel. There are several options available to you depending on how many countries you want to visit and how much you want to spend. You can fly from country to country but that is not very kind to the environment. You can travel solo on a train or join a group on a tour bus.

Traveling on your own can get expensive but you will have the freedom to do as you please. One way to potentially save a lot of money is to buy a train pass. It is easy to find information online and you will probably find at least one Eurail review. There are many passes available to people traveling to Europe via train. You can chose to travel 21 countries with one pass or narrow down your choices to 3, 4 or 5 countries within a certain length of time. You can also choose to travel within one country with a specific number of days within a time period. You will probably want to have a tentative travel plan in order to choose the best pass for you. The great thing about any of the passes is that you have flexibility in your train travel. If you like a city and want to stay an extra day or two you can.

Traveling with a group tour is sometimes a good budget option if you are traveling on your own. Once you read a Contiki review, you will know if this is the option for you or not. Some people love tours because they meet new people and they have their whole trip organized for them. They don’t have to think about what they will be doing the next day because they know weeks in advance.

In terms of idyllic golf holidays Portugal has been blazing a trail over the past decade with its rapid growth in the number and range of courses. This article focuses on the traditionally popular Algarve coast to point out the differences in the area’s great courses.

Widely considered a safe-option for a golf holiday Algarve, on Portugal’s south coast, boasts the weather and courses to provide year round golf.

The central Algarve has the highest density of golf resorts and courses in the country. Sifting through the resort courses for exceptional ones is no easy task as the standard is generally high. The Millenium parkland course is an enjoyable course with nice water features, but still a little modern. The Old Course is a great mature course where the greens are consistently fast and the landscaping around this hilly course has been brought to a fine art.

But for a real challenge, head to the Vale Do Lobo Royal, host to the Portugal Open and one course that favors good course management over long driving (the sand traps and rough will easily lose you two shots per hole).

On the eastern coast the climate gets milder and the courses become more elite. Many visitor come solely to play the Jack Nicklaus designed Monte Rei course. Admittedly it is a beautiful course and you can see how Jack designed obstacles and the locations topography into every hole. But for an equally enjoyable round of golf then follow the locals to some of the lesser known courses such as the Quinta Do Vale (opened in 2008 and designed by Seve) or the unique Castro Marim with its castle style clubhouse.

Finally, the western Algarve is open to the Atlantic wind and this factors into every course that lines the hillsides or coasts in this scenic areas. From the hillside views of Parque Da Floresta and the Penina Championship Course you could happily play these every day and they would change along with what way the wind is blowing. Both courses have top-class greens and were designed with deep green-side bunkers to attract in errant shots.

New Zealand is a beautiful part of the world that many people who know about it dream of traveling to. Many people learn about New Zealand after learning about Australia and often you will see vacation packages to Australia and New Zealand advertised close together or in the same itinerary since the two countries are close to each other. For those who travel to New Zealand, South Island is a very popular destination.

South Island is the larger of the two islands that make up New Zealand. It is home to some of the most revered vacation spots in the world. Aside from the natural beauty, you can also find a cosmopolitan lifestyle in Christchurch, the island’s biggest city. There is much to see and do in Christchurch with its botanic garden, Cathedral Square, various museums, public parks, and shopping venues. Christchurch is also home to various music and theater performing groups and a vibrant arts scene. The city is a great base for launching day trips to explore the surrounding countryside.

Queenstown is a resort town where one can partake in many outdoor and extreme sports. Depending on the time of year one can go skiing, hiking, mountain climbing, jet boating, kayaking, white-water rafting, or paragliding. Queenstown is also the bungee jumping capitol of the world. Surrounded by spectacular natural scenery, it is also a great place to relax and explore the outdoors at leisure.

New Zealand is home to several national parks, the most popular of these is Fjordland National Park. There are bus tours from Queenstown to this remarkable location, but flying is a better option to cut down on travel time and a get a spectacular bird’s eye view of the landscape. Milford Sound, considered one of the best tourist destinations in he world, is found in this park. Pristine waterfalls falling from high cliffs covered by lush rain forests creates a stunning, timeless environment. There are other popular natural wonders such as Mt Cook and Franz Joseph Glacier, which can be appreciated on foot or via a helicopter ride.

With so much to experience, New Zealand deserves its own vacation package. For further reading on traveling to New Zealand (and Australia), the Australia Vacation Packages Info website can point you in the right direction.

A lot of people ask me if it is realistic to do budget travel these days. And by this I don’t just mean stay within a defined budget for your trip, but get the most out of your travel dollar. Most of us aren’t college backpackers taking a final trip around Europe before we have to get a real job. The majority of the people that ask me this have jobs, but want to do something more with their vacations than visit Mt. Rushmore or Niagara Falls. They want to see the far flung places of the world, but have to do it on a limited amount of money. And to those people I say, you can do it.

Budget travel does not necessarily equate to sleeping in dive motels in some run down part of a third world country waiting for the next infestation of bed bugs to come and get you. It is all about finding the best deals, and using what I call travel currency arbitrage to make the most of the money you have. I’ll cover some of these thing more in depth in later articles. Today I just want to talk about how we can realistically achieve a fantastic travel experience on a budget.

Two of the most expensive things on the travel menu if you are heading overseas is airfare and hotels. This will probably make up the biggest chunk of your budget. Now there is not a lot you can do about airlines, they pretty much own the market and you will get the best deal you can. Forget all those urban myths about getting a job as a courier to carry a package on a flight to Europe for $10. It might have happened once, but not these days. And even if you could find something like this, most people have a set vacation schedule and couldn’t take a chance showing up to the airport hoping there was a courier spot to Amsterdam.

If you want the best air travel deals, you need to plan ahead and start looking early and often. I usually plan my trips overseas six months in advance and watch the airfares like a hawk. I use sites like Kayak to provide me an overview of the different airlines going to my destination. Then I look at the individual airlines sites to get their prices as well. I will get a base line price on the rates and continue to watch what they do. However you don’t want to wait too long to purchase your airfare, because once you wait to long, you enter a pricing zone where seats are filling up and they can raise fares. There are some other good tips to save you some cash that I’ll cover in another article.

In regards to hotels or accommodations, that is another big drain on the travel budget. But where you stay and how long you stay can play a big part in getting a good deal. And depending on where you go, you can leverage the power of the dollar to live like a king or queen on $50 a day. But you may have to forgo one destination for another. Right now the dollar is pretty weak compared to other western countries. Instead of visiting Venice Italy, you may want to try Thailand. Bangkok is the Venice of the east they say. But those are the types of things you need to think about to get the most for your money and travel on a budget.

I’ll talk more about all this in many future articles. There is no way to fit years of travel advise in one page. But budget travel is real, and it will open up the world to you.
